Hello Wednesday! Today’s affirmation card….

Another good one, but, depending on who’s reading it…. I believe you get the respect you deserve. If you’re a selfish prick, I won’t hold very much respect for you.
To be honest, there are exactly three people in this world that if I happen to be driving in the middle of nowhere and come across them stranded in the road looking for a ride. I would just keep driving past. Or swerve. Depends on the day I guess. LOL
*Kidding! Don’t get your panties in a bundle! Or am I? 🤔
Back to it then! Today I am SO very excited for this weekend! The first weekend in what seems like forever with NO work involved. Well, a little light work that will also be fun.
Saturday is Mother/Daughter day!
Janina and I haven’t had a good Mother/Daughter day in months! I NEED IT!
I grew up with girlfriends as a kid/teen. As I matured into adulthood I realized I was NOT a fan of all the drama that comes with groups of young women, so I stopped hanging out with some friends as often. Then I started dating Paul and somehow ended up with more guys as friends since I had also started shooting trap with him at the Luxemburg Sportsman’s Club on a team. Makes sense as I was a tomboy my whole childhood anyway. LOL
I MISS SHOOTING TRAP! 😊
The nights were pretty much all hilariously filled with jokes and BS stories. SO much less drama, and just relaxing with a beer or three. LOL
When we started a family, I was so happy to have a baby boy! Then when we found out our second baby was a girl I admit, I was a little nervous. Still, excited. Having Janina as a daughter has brought me back around to keeping up with girlfriends and my feminine side.
Over the years I’ve always made sure to have Mother/Daughter days, just the two of us. Girly stuff and treats.
As Janina has gotten older it’s gotten a little bit harder to get to spend the time with her. I miss it! She is so busy with school, plus her part-time job on weekends, plus she’s a teenager, they hang out with their friends whenever possible. I get it. LOL
Being bummed out over our lack of Halloween, and my own lack of getting out, has me desperate for some girl time though. I thought of a great idea. I told Janina to pick a day for a Mother Daughter Day and invite her girlfriends to join and I’ll gladly adopt some temporary daughters just for a girls day. LOL
Saturday morning, I am making Bacon and Fried Bread Dough for a big filling breakfast for them. Then we’re heading to a bookstore. (We ALL love reading so this is an easy win.) After that, we’ll head back home for movies, mud masks, snacks and build your own personal pizzas. Easy, fun, hopefully relaxing.
I’m really looking forward to it, like the dork that I am. I don’t care. New Adopted daughters, yay! LOL
Sunday will be another fun day as it is my family’s annual ‘Apple Pie Day’!!
Every fall my grandmother, mother, sister, and I get together and make a table full of fresh baked apple pies. Janina and my niece help now also.
*Which reminds me I need to get to the orchard and buy a bushel of apples on Friday, can’t forget! * LOL
My great grandmother also came and took part in Apple pie day when she was able. (She’s since passed away.) I think of her often, but especially on this day. 💕
I have fun baking these pies and gifting them to people or freezing them for Christmas and other gatherings. However, I don’t particularly like eating them. They’re just okay to me. LOL
Garrett looks forward to this day and has been bugging me to know when we’re having Pie Day again, because he will devour a whole pie himself in just a day or two! UGH That kid! LOL
I feel like this nice weekend will be the perfect fall weekend to catch up on relaxing some. After this though, I will need to get my butt in gear to get things ready for the upcoming snow.
I’m hoping for a nice white Christmas. 😊🎄❄
Until tomorrow! Take care of yourself.
*Hugs*

Come spill the tea with me!
