Oh how relaxing!

Today was the first massage I’ve had in MONTHS!

When I started seeing my Neurologic Chiropractor, I had to stop seeing my massage therapist just to help make sure the adjustments the Chiropractor made stuck and didn’t get knocked back out of alignment.

I’ve been seeing him long enough that he said I could try a massage and see how it goes.

I was going for a full body deep tissue massage once a month for a few years now. It helped make a HUGE difference in my reoccurring migraines also, as many of them were stemmed from muscle spasms and knots. SO MANY KNOTS! Leah once told me she never had anyone with so many knots in their scalp! ugh!

But she always worked them out and I felt great after! IF I remembered to guzzle my water before and after each appointment! Me and my short-term memory issues would often have me forgetting to drink enough water. Which is a HARD lesson to learn after a deep tissue massage! If I forgot to drink at least two of my water bottles full before my appointment, as soon as I’d get home that day a massive migraine would start up!

My own fault. Damn! I did learn my lesson and always try to chug a ton of water before and after, though, some days I still forget the before. Like today….. I’m chugging the water now!!! LOL

One thing I hate about Post Concussion Syndrome is the muscles tend to get permanently stuck in the “Fight or Flight” mode and are always tensed up. These massages help that more than anything!

Granted Leah, my massage therapist, is a very tiny woman but she can really make you feel like she’s just beating the crap out of you laying on that table! I joke with her often saying that I think she’s just taking out her pent-up frustration out on me! She has a sense of humor much like mine, which is a great thing.

Not only does she help my muscles, I also feel like it’s a mini therapy session. LOL Which of course we both end up venting to each other, or joking around. Spillin’ the tea. 😉

When I first got there today, I was SO excited to be back! I could very easily fall asleep and just enjoy the time, but we had a lot of catching up to do! My mouth was running. Poor Leah. LOL

So, for anyone in the Kewaunee County area who might be looking for a great massage, look up Leah at Country Air Wellness and book an appointment. Tell her Sue sent you. 😉 (A relaxing, deep tissue, or Lymphatic drainage – She’s great at them all!)

I’m running late for barn chores!! GAH!

Today’s Affirmation card! This one hit home! I’ve survived this long! I’m aiming for a lot longer.

Take care of yourself!

*Hugs*

Come spill the tea with me!
