The one thing I own that holds deep sentimental value would be my great grandmothers Wagner cast iron fry pan.

My great grandma, Mildred, was just an awesome woman. She had a great sense of humor, she didn’t take any shit and would voice her honest opinion whenever it was needed. She also was a great cook and baked the best dinner rolls. She passed away a month shy of her 101st birthday. My own kids had the pleasure of being old enough to know her and remember her. We all loved her so much.

When she was put into her assisted living home I was gifted her Wagner cast iron pan. She told me it was a wedding gift, and she told me how she kept it clean and in such great condition. I still use it to this day, almost daily. This pan is 91 years old now and still in perfect condition. I feel like I need to make an extra special meal with it when it turns 100. 🙂

One day it’ll be passed down to my daughter maybe.

  1. I was gonna answer the exact same thing, I love my cast-iron skillet. It even works well on induction stoves. I’ve had mine since I was an undergrad at college.
