Family Game Nights are back!

Time for the daily Affirmations Card……. šŸ˜€

The funny thing about this one is, not ALL of the negative assh*les are just in a person’s head. There are plenty out there in the real world. All ready to pick apart any negative aspect, making anyone feel like they should just quit whatever idea they may be trying to make a reality.

So, if you’re one of those and you’re reading this. Take note. Go do your timeout and leave the rest of us alone to do the work that’s needed to get done in order to actually make things happen.

OKAY! How is everyone today? Here, the sun is shining warm and beautiful. A nice cool breeze, the leaves fall colors are gorgeous, and I’m accomplishing a lot. Well, in MY eyes I am. LOL

Garrett and I worked this morning on raking up and shoveling the majority of the black walnuts into the dump trailer to haul away. (I can’t wait to be done with those for the year!)

My ducks and chickens are laying eggs to sell again. YAY!

Had an appointment and after that did some quick grocery shopping, which of course when I don’t really pay attention to how I’m looking is always when I run into a bunch of people I know.

Costco was the place for small town catching up today! LOL

**Yep, had to take a break as I just realized I forgot to stop at Paulies Chop Shop to pick up a Ham I ordered! oops!” Back to it. LOL

What I’m looking forward to most, is tonight.

See, I am trying to clean out our coffee table. It’s more of a trunk on wheels. I was lucky enough to inherit a very old cedar chest my great uncle built a LONG time ago. I attached wheels to the bottom, and we use it as a coffee table that I can easily roll to the side so the kids have plenty of room to play.

Inside this trunk we store our games.

IT IS FULL!

For many years Santa has brought us a family game every Christmas. We have Monopoly, Clue ‘The Office’, Clue ‘Harry Potter’, TWO Connect Fours for some reason, and SO many more! Plenty of these games were played once maybe twice and that’s it. I’m culling them out!

Paul suggested we at least play the game first before deciding if we want to keep it or get rid of it.

Which is a great idea to me because I’m the one always trying to keep a routine of a family game night. šŸ˜€ (I try and fail usually)

So, each night now we play one game after supper and vote for the game to stay or to go.

The first game we played is called, Vertellis Family Edition. (Well, it’s not much of a game game, more like Q & A.) You do get to add up points if you want but we didn’t bother with that. You take turns, draw a card, read it out loud, then answer it. After you pass to the left and the next person does the same. The questions range from “What is your favorite memory of a family get together?” or “What have you always wanted to ask your parent(s)?”

Some cards are different depending on the round. One card in particular;

“For Everyone: Act out one of your family members’ hobbies or interests. The first person to guess the right person and their hobby wins one point. You can imitate the same person more than once.”

Janina chose to act out her mother’s hobby. Reading a book? NO. Painting? Nope. Gardening. Nada! Janina proceeded to jump up, run to the pantry and grab my sweeper mop and start sweeping the floor like a lunatic! Shoving chairs, yelling for others to stay out of her dirt pile, moving things to sweep through.

Paul and Garrett found it hilarious.

Ha. Ha. Ha. Janina. …………. Am I really THAT bad?

Okay,,, maybe I could lighten up a bit, but it drives me nuts seeing dirt on the floor. The dog hair collects SO fast! Literally a pile every morning! If I don’t sweep it up no one will! LOL

NEXT CARD!! šŸ™‚

We all agreed we did really enjoy the family time playing this and had a lot of good laughs from it. Also learned a few things about each other. But, once you go through the cards, your pretty much done. So, it’s to go. I would still highly recommend this for anyone looking for an easy way to bring the kids and parents together for a little quality family time. Maybe pass it on when you’re done with it. That’s what I plan on doing with it.

I’ll share a link in case anyone is interested. šŸ™‚ https://link.amazon/B07eOROyM

Last night, Janina’s boyfriend came over to join us for supper, and he also joined in on game night. This game is called, ‘Stir The Pot’.

There are a LOT of cards, which you pile in the center. Once coin that says “Tell” on one side and “Don’t Tell” on the other. The first player draws a card and reads it silently. They then pass the card to the person on their left who also reads it and they have to point to the one person the card sounds similar to the most. They then flip the coin and if it lands on “Tell” they must read the card out loud and the person they pointed to now knows the card they were compared to. If it lands on “Don’t Tell” the card is quietly shown to everyone EXCEPT for the person who it describes and was pointed to. NOT for young kids. Mature teens I think are fine (That we noticed so far.) Otherwise play with adults, family or friends depending on their sense of humor. LOL

Yep,,,, its rage baiting a bit. LOL

Some of these cards were just hilarious when you read it and think, “Yep! That’s Garrett!”

No matter what, once a card was done, we set it face down in front of that person who was deemed the rightful owner. LOL

Janina was a stinker and she kept separate piles so if there was a card she didn’t know what it said she could go back later and know who thought what about her. LOL Smart kid.

This game would be a lot of fun played with friends too. As long as everyone has a great sense of humor, so no one ends up offended over anything. LOL It does says right on the games directions that you just keep playing until everyone hates each other. LOL

We didn’t play THAT long. šŸ˜‰ We all did have a lot of fun with tons of laughs, and the vote was to keep it. There are so many cards we didn’t even get 1/4 of the way through them, so plenty more game time before we’re through them all.

I do recommend this one, just be careful who you play it with. It could be dangerous. Unless you’re one of those people who like to start drama. LOL šŸ˜‰

Here’s where I go it on a Cyber Monday deal last year. LOL https://link.amazon/B06EcMWoM

Maybe I’ll write again after we go through more and find ones we love.

I hope y’all have a great weekend!

*Hugs*

Culling games from a wheeled cedar-chest coffee table by playing one after supper and voting keep-or-go — starting with Vertellis Family Edition Q&A — is such a warm family-game-night reboot. I run Unlimited Krillion, an unlimited practice version of the obscure-answer trivia game Krillion, and that play-then-decide ritual is how I’d want any trivia night to feel. Zane

    1. Hi! It has been fun. Last night my daughter was too busy with homework so my son and I played Mancala. An old favorite that we will always keep. šŸ˜Šā¤ļø
