This is a hard question I feel.
How do you handle stress?
For me, it would also depend on the situation and what is causing the stress?
If it’s my kids or any little ones that I’m babysitting stressing me out, then a nice date night with my husband will help relax me. Though, a date night is hard to get so I resort to chocolate.
If it’s my husband being an asshole stressing me out, I tend to “eat my feelings” in chocolate and go to bed early, ignoring him until he’s over whatever is up his ass irritating him. (NOT the healthiest way, YES, I know. LOL)
If it’s someone else pissing me off with their stupidity or rudeness. I vent to Paul or a trusted friend, and maybe some ice cream, or again chocolate. LOL
I’m noticing a very distinct pattern here. Anyone else? LOL
I will admit, I have inherited my father’s inescapable chocolate addiction. I’m okay with that.
If it is something around home, like something is broken or overly dirty, or overly unorganized, or we are hosting something here. I power clean. I turn into a dirt Nazi (can I say that? Have a sense of humor! LOL) and freak out until I have things cleaned exactly how I like them to be cleaned. If someone else cleans something and I don’t like it, I will reclean it “my way” and bitch the entire time. (Yeah, not good either I know.)
This is also where my supposed OCD (NOT Dr. confirmed, HA!) comes in because I also can’t just clean a room. I have to start in one particular spot, clean the shit out of it and work from that spot in a circle the entire way around the room. I can NOT skip over a spot to something else. If I am forced to stop at a spot, I literally cannot clean anything else until I can finish that spot and continue on my routine. If I am going to clean the floors, I HAVE to literally remove all the furniture from one room before sweeping, then washing that floor. After that floor is dry, I will move the furniture back in and move onto the next room. (The sectional living room couch is hard to move by myself, but if I’m pissed, I can get it done! LOL)
This all actually makes the act of cleaning harder and take much longer. LOL Yes, it’s dumb. I KNOW! I have tried; I can’t change this about me.
Lately, my root stress has been just getting Tea Leaf & Tallow up and functioning. I am HORRIBLE at this business kind of stuff. I AM good at making up roller bottles for ailments, salves and lotions, tinctures and teas, I am good at helping people with their problems. I am just bad at selling it and finding the time to make more stock at the present moment. I’m only one person! LOL
I recently just got over having migraines daily, for over two weeks! It was beyond frustrating not being able to function good. Not good at all. Running on empty, daily. I got into my NUCCA Dr. who found out my trapezius muscle was completely spasmed tight, thus causing the constant migraines. He released the muscle and just like that. Migraines have been gone since. He mentioned stress might have caused that to happen.
NO SHIT.
I would have to agree because I was so stressed out the week prior to all of this. Trying to get ready for the very first vendor show, introducing my brand new little one person business to the local world. I couldn’t even sleep good that whole week.
I won’t lie, when I am THAT stressed out, my guts will even roll, ALL WEEK! Enough said about that. HA!
So, what do I do for that kind of stress.
I have absolutely no idea. I just keep trucking along, keeping busy and hoping it passes. Which usually just ends up with me practically sick and going to bed extra early on a daily bases until it eventually passes.
I will gladly take any suggestions to heart! I’m up for trying anything. Well, as long as it’s nothing that is going to have my head bouncing around or anything that will irriate my PCS.
I feel like a hot tub would help.
Boil myself like a kettle of chicken soup. (Funny yet gross to picture sitting there among a bunch of carrots, potatoes and onions. LOL)
A hot tub or a sauna. YES! Could I convince Paul to put one of these in? NO. Damn.
Next idea!
I will say, I do find it relaxing being outside. I always feel better being outside rather than inside. I love working in my gardens or moving flowers around to make my duck or chicken pastures look cute. Though, I’ve got a long way to go before they’re actually cute. I keep trying! LOL
The hard part is TIME MANAGEMENT. I have a hard time finding extra time for this. So, any suggestions might be better to be kept to short things.
Maybe a shot of Tequila? That would help if I still drank. Probably wouldn’t end well though either.
So, pull up a chair and answer me this,,,,,,
What do YOU do to handle stress?
Take care of yourself

Come spill the tea with me!
